Clean water helps keep children in school, especially girls.

Less time spent collecting water means more time for lessons. Clean water and proper sanitation in schools mean that teenage girls don’t have to stay home for a week each month.

Before Natalia’s village had a tap for clean water, she often didn’t have time to go to school. Now she goes every day and is the president of the local water committee. And she’s just getting started.

How to address the water crisis?

We collaborate with local experts and community members to find the best sustainable solution in every place where we work, whether it’s a well, a piping system, a biological sand filter, or a rainwater harvesting system. Additionally, for every water point we fund, our partners coordinate hygiene and sanitation training courses and establish a local water committee that will help maintain the water for years to come.
